What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that the website stores on your device while you browse. Similar technologies, such as local storage or pixels, work in the same way and on this page we simply call them cookies.

Technical cookies make the website work and do not require consent. Analytics cookies and third-party cookies that are not strictly necessary are only used if you accept them in the banner, as required by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 and the Italian Data Protection Authority’s guidelines of 10 June 2021.

Technical and necessary cookies

Consent preferences (Elmobot): remember the choices you make in the banner, so it is not shown again on every page.

Site language (niew_lingua): set only if you choose a language from the language switcher, it remembers your choice for one year. Without this cookie the site chooses the language from your browser and the country you connect from: Italian if it is among your browser’s languages or if you connect from Italy, otherwise English, French or Spanish.

Security and spam protection (Cloudflare and Cloudflare Turnstile): Cloudflare hosts the website and protects it from malicious traffic; Turnstile checks that the contact form is filled in by a person. They may use cookies or technical browser data only for the time needed for the check.

Fonts (Adobe Fonts and Google Fonts): the website’s fonts are loaded from Adobe and Google servers, which receive the browser’s IP address in order to deliver them. They are not used to profile you.

Analytics cookies

Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd): measures visits and page use in aggregate form, with IP anonymisation. Main cookies: _ga and _ga_<ID>, lasting up to 2 years. Policy: Google Privacy Policy.

Hotjar (Hotjar Ltd): analyses in aggregate form how pages are used (clicks, scrolling), to improve them. Main cookies: _hjSessionUser_<ID> (up to 1 year) and _hjSession_<ID> (30 minutes). Policy: Hotjar Privacy Policy.

Zoho PageSense (Zoho Corporation): measures how well pages perform and allows comparison tests between versions. Policy: Zoho Privacy Policy.

These cookies are only activated after your consent.

Third-party content

YouTube videos (Google): some pages contain YouTube videos. Where possible we use privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com); when you play a video, YouTube may still set its own cookies under the Google Privacy Policy.

Newsletter images (Mailchimp): some news items show images hosted on Mailchimp servers, which receive the browser’s IP address in order to deliver them.

Data transfers outside the EU

Some providers (Google, Zoho, Adobe, Cloudflare, Mailchimp) may also process data outside the European Union. Transfers are based on the EU–US adequacy decision (EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

Your rights

You can ask at any time for access, rectification, erasure, restriction of or objection to the processing of your data by writing to [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority.
